Socialism. A Clear Definition

11/4/2011

There is so much confusion about socialism and communism in this society.  People call Obama a socialist which is the height of ignorance.  It's impossible to give a comprehensive definition in this small space, but here is a working definition.  The rest will depend upon you to do the proper research to find out more on your own......Socialism is a political, economic, and social system that is organized around a plan to meet people's needs and requirements.  This means your productive system is organized around providing employment, housing, healthcare, and other needs to people.  There are requirements for a genuine socialist system.  There must be a plan and clear political and economic objectives.  There should also be a degree of economic industrialization.  Employment must be guaranteed by law.  Education must be free by law.  Healthcare must be free by law.  Living expenses must be no more than an agreed upon percentage of your income.  Elected office cannot include any finance to run for office (meaning it doesn't cost you anything to run and hold elected office to eliminate conflicts of interests).  Democracy must be in integral aspect of your society through a non-finance controlled election process and the ability of community organizations to have complete say in what happens in their communities e.g. how communty funds are allocated, prioirites, etc.  Now, this doesn't mean everyone makes the same money.  You are paid based on the demand for what you do, just like here, but the difference is education is free so everyone has the opportunity to become whatever you want independent of your class status.  So your dad may be a construction worker, but you can be a brain surgeon, in spite of how much money your family has as long as you're willing to invest the time and effort to study to become a brain surgeon.  Also, even if you decide to be a construction worker, value is determined based on the needs of the revolution, not how much money you make and what you own.  So, there is just as much prestige in being a construction worker or a garbage collector as there is in being a doctor or lawyer because people learn to understand the importance each job plays in running a society.  There are many other factors, but socialism is the economic extension of capitalism so since we are in that period right now, it's impossible to gauge socialism today without understanding that.  Also, communism is a classless society which we haven't achieved yet.  In order for communism to exist, the majority of the world would have to be socialist so obviously that hasn't happened.  If you're following me, then you picked up that communism is the step after socialism.  If you want more information read; The Communist Manisfesto - Karl Marx, Imperialism - V.I. Lenin, In  Defense of Socialism - Fidel Castro, Class Struggle in Africa - Kwame Nkrumah, Das Kapital - Marx, Africa Must Unite - Nkrumah, Cuba's Academic Advantage (forgot the author).  Write me for more sources.........I know this post will get the typical stupid responses from those few who wish to keep you ignorant and confused.  They are desperate now.  They even now write me and tell me they are police and they are watching me!  Wow!  Obviously they haven't done their homework or else they would know they are dealing with people who are not afraid of their stupid threats.  Keep educating your minds.  You can also get more resources from the All African People's Revolutionary Party website.  Stay strong!

I don't see disagreement as a negative because I understand that Frederick Douglass was correct when he said "there is no progress without struggle."  Our brains are muscles.  Just like any other muscle in our body if we don't stress it and push it, the brain will not improve.  Or, as a bumper sticker I saw once put it, "If you can't change your mind, how do you know it's there?"
