Rightwing Lies about Dr. Martin Luther King. Get Dr. King's name out of your filthy mouth!!10/21/2011 The late Kwame Ture said the Democratic Party is a political party where homeless people can belong with millionaires and believe their interests are the same as the millionaires. So, please don't be confused and think I am in any way committed to the Democratic Party. I am a believer in Malcolm X's famous statement: "I'm not a politician...I'm not a student of politics....I'm neither a Republican, nor a Democrat, nor an American, and got sense enough to know it!" I'm a member of the All African People's Revolutionary Party. An independent, Pan-African political party that's based in Africa. So please understand this isn't just some liberal attack against the Republican party since we are opposed completely to the Demopublican capitialist political machine. That being said, what the hell right does Representative Alan West have the other night to declare that Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. would be opposed to the Occupy America movement? Who the hell does West think he is to speak for Dr. King? Obviously he hasn't studied Dr. King's legacy very well. If he had, he would know that Dr. King was 100% committed to civil disobedience as a methodology to invoke social change. There are examples too numerous to list here e.g. the Montgomery Bus Boycott, the Birmingham Boycott, the poor people's march, and the Memphis Garbage Workers strike where Dr. King was killed in 1968. What are Alan West's credentials on civil disobedience? Could it be that his primary motivation for making a stupid statement like that is because there is a growing occupy movement in his hometown district in Palm Beach, Florida and those protestors were reported to have been chanting "Alan West got to go!!" That's the only explanation that makes sense. Understand that we don't care much what Alan West has to say about anything, but we do take issue with him invoking Dr. King's name in a dishonest and distorted way to try and bring credibility to his sellout political agenda. We're tired of these newjack 20th century sellout uncle tom politicians, whether they be republican or democrat, who try and claim our genuine leaders for justice and liberation. There isn't a single policy that this West is promoting that Dr. King would have supported and that fool knows that. Many of these newage sellout negro politicians have realized there is a lot of money in saying exactly what the White power structure wants you to say. There has always been a market for sellouts like West. This goes back to the 50s when the power structure used people like Jackie Robinson, the first Black baseball player, to speak out against the civil rights movement. So there has been a market there for any colored person who wanted to make some money to take on the political characteristics of those who have absolutely no interest in the African community and to articulate a long discredited anti-people analysis as to why African and other poor people suffer the way they do. They are able to do that because the audience they speak to isn't interested in historical accuracy. Just validation for their sick and immoral political agenda. That's why people like West and George W. Bush can incredibly connect themselves to people like Dr. King when these are the same scum would stood in Dr. King's way when he was alive. Don't be fooled by this nonsense. All of Dr. King's colleagues in the movement, including his children, have spoken out in support of the occupy movement. You can't find anyone who played a legitimate role in the civil rights movement who agrees with Alan West. He isn't with Dr. King's ideas and he isn't with you. His primary financial backers are the super political action committee group "Citizen's United" which backs rightwing candidates primarily from the backing it receives from insurance and energy corporations. Big surprise there. Also a big surprise that this minion West would oppose occupy America since the movement is expressing opposition against the capitalist system which butters his bread. In the final analysis, he has the right to oppose whomever and whatever he wants. He doesn't have the right to distort the message of Dr. King and those who would vomit at the thought of being associated with opportunists like him.
